Monitored
Here is a detailed view on the objects monitored by SystemGuard.
Filesystem space
You specify a list of filesystems to monitor and how full
they can be
in percent before SystemGuard will send warnings.
Free memory
The minimum free avaliable memory before warnings will be
sent.
Databases
Only Oracle databases are monitored if they are running.
You specify the SID of the database to monitor.
Note! SystemGuard does not connect to the database to
see if it is up, it monitors the processes.
Specified daemons
Here you can specify daemons SystemGuard should monitor
and restart if they are down. Eg. You could set it to check
that
the sendmail daemon is up, and how to start it automaticly
if it stops.
The syslog log
SystemGuard monitors the syslog for disk failures and sends
warnigs
if one is detected in the syslog.
The system load
SystemGuard monitors the system load and sends
warnigs when load
is above configured value.
The su log
SystemGuard can alert you when an unautorized person does a
su to user root.
